Victoria Banks was crowned Female Artist of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards last night in Edmonton, AB.
Banks, who had taken home the prestigious Songwriter of the Year award (for Johnny Reid’s smash hit “Dance With Me”) the previous night was notably overwhelmed with the weekend’s results.
“No one was more surprised than me,” says Banks of her double CCMA wins. “It’s been a very long road to get to this point for me. I’ve been working behind the scenes, writing songs for other people for over a decade in Nashville. To receive this vote of confidence from my peers not only for my songwriting, but also as an artist in my own right, really makes me feel like I’ve chosen the right path. It’s more than I ever dreamed of… I’m overwhelmed!”
Look for Victoria to hit the road this fall with one of the most awarded female country artists of all time, Reba McEntire. For full tour dates and ticket information, please visit www.victoriabanks.net
