Acclaimed singer songwriter Victoria Banks has utilized her talents to bring awareness to the devastation which struck Nashville earlier this week.
After hearing of the torrential rain which brought flooding to Music City USA, Victoria’s thoughts turned to her friends and family in Nashville and the city which she has called home for over a decade.
“Until this happened, I think I took home for granted,” explained Banks. “Nashville is such a magical place and I don’t think I realized how much I love being there until this devastation struck.”
Days later on a flight home from her recent tour with Grand Ole Opry Legend, Randy Travis, Victoria penned “City Of Dreams” which personifies Nashville and the strength and togetherness of its people as a community.
“Because of the number of shocking events that have been taking place in the world recently, the flooding has been overshadowed by the media a bit. The best way I knew to bring attention to what has happened was to use my music.”
Thursday evening, Victoria posted her recording of “City of Dreams” and a video montage of photos of the devastation and destruction on YouTube . Less than 24 hours later, the link has recorded over 3000 views and has been posted to social networking sites owned by other Nashville artists and songwriters.
